Block, Winnifred C. (01/22/2014)
Winnifred C. Block, age 91, of Winona, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2014, at Lake Winona Manor.

Winnie was born on April 26, 1922, in Winona, to Steve and Winifred (McCormick) Severson.

She will be remembered for her love of doing embroidery, cooking, and being an excellent homemaker. Family was everything to her, and she was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend.

Winnie is lovingly survived by her children: William Block, Donna Rinn, Sue (Louis) Pace, and Marge (Larry) Pflughoeft; daughter-in-law: Sharon (Bob) Nelson; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; as well as other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her sons: Daniel Finch and Steven Finch; a great-grandson: Steven Kircher; her parents; two brothers and one sister.

In respect to Winnie’s wishes, a private family service has been held.

Winnie was laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Winona.

Memorials may be directed to the Winona Health Foundation or Hospice Services.
