Here is part 3 of my letter. God loves us as these Scriptures show. John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” I John 4:10 says “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” Also see John 3:17-21, Luke 19:10, Gal. 1:4, and Rom. 5:8.
God’s remedy for us to be saved is in the following scriptures. Rom. 5:8 says “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” See Rom. 6:23b. John 14:6 says “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” I Cor. 15:3b says “Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures.” Also see Luke 19:10 and Acts 4:8-12.
These scriptures show man’s responsibilities to be saved. Acts 3:19a says “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.” Rom. 10:9,10 says “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Also see Rom. 10:11-17.
These scriptures show the results of salvation. John 3:18 says “He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” John 3:36 says “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” II Cor. 5:17 says “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away: behold, all things are become new.” See Rom. 8:9,16,17.
In part 4 next Sunday, I’ll write about how you can be sure you’re saved, what to do when you are faced with temptations, and what to do when sins occur.
