Loshek, Evelyn M. ‘Dolly’ (01/29/2014)
Evelyn M. “Dolly” Loshek, age 88, of Winona, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2014, at Winona Health, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

She was born on August 8, 1925, in Arcadia, Wis., to Oscar and Florence (Giemza) Schultz. Evelyn was united in marriage with Edward J. “Bud” Loshek on September 25, 1946, in Winona; he preceded her in death on January 4, 2013.

Evelyn will be remembered for her love of animals, music, going out to eat, and always keeping her yard and garden perfectly. She was very supportive of the Humane Society and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. She and her husband, Ed, owned and operated Sloppy Joe’s Bar in Winona for many years,

Family was very important to Evelyn. She was an excellent homemaker, and was a loving wife, mom and grandma. She looked forward to her weekly visits with her mom and dad on their farm near Trempealeau, attending family reunions with all of her cousins, and she cherished the time she spent with her sister-in-law, Rosemary.

Evelyn is lovingly survived by her children: Kathleen Ann (James) Strain, Winona, and Charles Edward Loshek, Winona, grandchildren: Lonnie Brown, Winona, Scott Brown, Winona, Angie (Shane) Loshek-Fossan, Woodbury, Minn., Pam (Patrick) Galvin, Eagan, Minn., Andrea Brown, Winona; great-grandchildren: Evan, Tanner, Ellie, Abby, Trevor, Jack, and Kenzie; sister-in-law: Rosemary Starzecki, Winona; nieces: Debbie Brokaw and Diana Huwald; nephew: Joe Loshek; as well as other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Stanley Schultz, and a nephew, Steve Loshek.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2014, at Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home. The Reverend Monsignor Thomas J. Hargesheimer will officiate.

Evelyn will be laid to rest in the spring at St. Mary’s Cemetery in a family ceremony.

Visitation will be held at Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home on Thursday, January 30, 2014, from noon until time of the service.

Pallbearers will be Lonnie Brown, Scott Brown, Shane Fossan, Shane Loshek, Tanner Remlinger, and Jim Strain.

The family respectfully requests that memorials be considered to the Winona Area Humane Society or to Alzheimer’s research: www.alz.org/donate.asp.

Mother – there will never be a moment I will not think of you. Our special times together, the special things that you would do - memories so special when you were by my side, now tucked away in my heart forever to abide. Love, Kathy.

Online condolences or memories may be left for Evelyn’s family at www.watkowski-mulyck.com.

Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
