I am writing this to remind cancer survivors of a rewarding public service offered to us, free of charge, through Winona State University, Winona Health, Gundersen, and especially due to the hard-working efforts of our WSU students and the expertise of their professor Gary Kastello. This 12-week program helps cancer survivors maintain their strength and wellness through exercise with caring and compassionate individuals. The program is uplifting in so many life maintenance ways, both physically and mentally. The one-on-one support given by each conscientious student in the Movement Science program is invaluable. I am thankful to all who give of their precious time and effort to this program which meets 6:45-7:45 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the WSU Integrated Wellness Complex, in room 136 starting February 11. Open enrollment is now at 507-457-5219. Good life opportunities are often available but it’s up to us to recognize them in order to grow and thrive!
P.S. My heartfelt plea to all caretakers - treat others as you’d like to be treated. In this frigid weather, our beloved living things need shelter, water and plenty of food to retain body heat and survive. Isn’t this the way we’d like to be treated? Let’s continue to do our best as caretakers!
