  (ARCHIVES)Back to Current
Story was inaccurate (02/05/2014)
From: Keith Polus

The article on Diane Kennedy abusing her dog was a complete lie. The person who started that whole illusion is truly living in a fog. The Internet is doing that to many in today’s world. They live in a social reality on the web that is anything but the truth. Social media is not reality. People create a life for themselves that they only wish they could have. The images and pictures and the worthless chatter is endless. They create an image of themselves and their “reality” on their social page that is just not true in real life. They are spending so much time shaping their lives on the social web that in fact they have no time to live the life they have created. They cannot put anything into their long-term memory because their short-term memory is so overloaded with crap that they have lost their ability to think in a critical manner. The critical thinking process with many individuals today has been lost because they are wrapped up in so many distractions and shallow thought processes on the social network. Albert Einstein had it right when he said that it has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity. Today’s society has trouble focusing on one task. They cannot remember things too well because they have lost the art of storing things into long-term memory. We are numbed to our own true selves because we have allowed this social glorious, this wonderful social media site to be our reality. We have blinded the inner self to ever knowing our true self and living in true reality.

The result is what happened to Diane at the post office the other day. Some individual walking in a fog thinks they see something and thinks they are in actual reality when in fact they are creating their own little world within their own mind and sharing it on social media as if it is the truth. Anyone who knows Diane knows she is the most caring, loving, most sensitive, individual you could meet. She loves her dog and cares for it very well.

Martin Heidegger in his book, “Discourse on Thinking,” said it well, “The looming tide of technological revolution could so captivate, bewitch, dazzle and beguile man that calculative thinking may someday come to be accepted and practiced as the only way of thinking.”

God save us all. Hang in there Diane; we know reality. Give your dog a hug for me.
