Christianity is not a fantasy: Walking as a Christian (02/09/2014)
From: Lynette Palecek

Winona

The following scriptures show the importance of prayer. Phil. 4:6,7 says “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” See Ps. 116:17. Jesus Christ says in John 15:7 “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” See Luke 11:9, James 5:16. I Thes. 5:17,18 says “Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

These scriptures show how to grow as a Christian. I Peter 2:2 says “As newborn babies, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.” Also see Ps. 119:11 and Rom. 15:4. II Tim. 3:16,17 says “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the men of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” Also see II Tim. 2:15. Ps. 119:105 says “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Also see Ps. 1:1,2.

The following scriptures show the importance of fellowship with other Christians. Heb. 10:25 says “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of same is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more as ye see the day approaching.” Col. 3:16,17 says “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” Also see Eph. 5:19-21, I Cor. 12:12, and I Cor. 12:25,27.

Next Sunday will be the conclusion of my letter. I will write about proof from God’s Holy Word that hell does exist, 24 descriptions of hell, and, of course, that you need to be saved before it’s too late.
