|
|
Brad Redlin, the Mississippi River/Ag. Coordinator for the Midwest Office of the Izaak Walton League of America (IWLA), will be speaking to the Winona (Will Dilg) Chapter of the IWLA at the Monarch Tavern in Fountain City, Wis., on Tuesday August 10, 2004 at 7:00p.m. Mr. Redlin's discussion will include current events affecting conservation management on the Mississippi River and on agricultural lands in the region. A short list of topics will include: the Corps of Engineers Navigation Study, Agricultural Policy, and the IWLA's position and actions on these conservation related issues. (A brief discussion of the implications of recent WTO decisions on agricultural subsidies may also be included. The meeting should be informative and will help to brief local IKES and concerned citizens on actions being taken to lend direction to the legislative process as it addresses these issues on a state and national level. The meeting will be open to the public, and all may attend.
