Sneak peek of GRSF designs (03/10/2014)
By
Great River Shakespeare Festival invites the public to attend their Spring Design Preview event on Sunday, March 23 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. This event will showcase the preliminary work of GRSF’s design team for the Summer 2014 Season, in addition to casting announcements for the three plays: “The Merry Wives of Windsor,” “Hamlet and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead.”

Are you ready for a taste of summer? Join Great River Shakespeare Festival and their design team for glimpse into the process of planning and designing for Season 11!

The GRSF Designers gather in Winona for a weekend of intense collaboration to prepare as a team for summer 2014. Since all three shows are performed in repertory, it is critical for the designers to work together to synchronize plans. Through models, sketches, and presentations Spring Design Preview attendees will have the opportunity to peek into the plans that will be fully realized this summer on- stage.

The Season 11 Design Team Includes: R. Eric Stone (Set Design), Lonnie Alcaraz (Lighting Design), Margaret Weedon (Costume Design for The Merry Wives of Windsor), Louis Bird (Costume Design for Hamlet and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, Matthew Tibbs (Sound Design), Jack Forbes Wilson (Composer for The Merry Wives of Windsor), Paul Mason Barnes (Director for The Merry Wives of Windsor), James Edmondson (Director for Hamlet), Gale Childs Daly (Director for Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead).

The Spring Design Preview features more than just design—it’s the first chance to hear cast lists for the summer! Come to hear which of your favorite GRSF actors are returning to Winona for the summer, and who they’ll be playing in each of the three plays this summer: The Merry Wives of Windsor, Hamlet and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. The Spring Design Preview will also feature the unveiling of the final Season 11 painting by Julia Crozier for Hamlet.

The Spring Design Preview event is open to the public from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 23 at the Winona History Center located at 160 Johnson Street. No reservations necessary. Season Passes and tickets will be available at the event. The GRSF Box Office is open Monday through Friday from 12:00- 3:00 p.m.
