Carolyn Sue Holland, 56, of Spring Valley, Minn., was charged with first-degree burglary and fifth-degree assault causing fear after she allegedly threatened a day care provider with a gun.
According to court documents, Holland went to a day care center in St. Charles on March 20 at approximately 11:30 a.m. with the intent to discuss a prior event and to intimidate the female victim, who runs the day care center. The victim said that Holland entered the center holding a large purse in one hand and the gun in the other, telling the victim that “she was going to take care of her when the children were gone.” Also according to court documents, “the victim said [Holland] had a wallet and a toy gun in her purse.”
The St. Charles Police Department arrested Holland, who admitted that she “wanted the gun to intimidate” the victim. Officers confiscated Holland’s purse and located a wallet but did not find a gun.
