Cordes, Daniel A. (04/14/2014)
Daniel A. Cordes, 75, of Winona, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014, at St. Anne Extended Healthcare.

Dan was born on January 19, 1939, in Hart Township, Minn., to William and Madeline (Strande) Cordes. He grew up on the family farm. Dan graduated from Lewiston High School in 1957. He married Shirley Fjeld on December 12, 1959, in Nashua, Iowa. They made their home in Winona. Dan worked for Peerless Chain for 41 and a half years.

Dan was an avid Nascar (14) fan. He also enjoyed watching the Vikings and Twins. In his younger days, Dan like to ride snowmobiles. He helped out on the family farm.

Dan will be greatly missed by his wife of 54 years, Shirley; children, Scott, of Minneapolis, Christie(Bob) Bohn of Winona; granddaughter, Kelly Mathiowetz; three great-grandchildren; brother, Roxy Cordes, of Wesleco, Texas. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, William and Madeline (Strande); and son, Brian.

A service of remembrance for Dan will be held on Monday, April 14, 2014, at 2 p.m. with visitation starting at 1 p.m. at Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home. The Rev. Michelle Rem will be officiating.
