Gilman, Joyce Ann (05/14/2014)
Joyce Ann Gilman, 66, of Winona, died at her home, Monday, May 12, 2014, after an extended illness.

Joyce was born April 8, 1948, in Hutchinson, Minn., to Norman and Dora (Elfmann) Schmidt. She graduated in 1966 from Centennial High School in Circle Pines, Minn. On August 9, 1969, she married Tony Gilman at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Circle Pines, Minn.

Joyce was very artistic and loved all kinds of crafts. She was also extremely musical and loved to sing and play the piano and organ. Joyce also had a love of birds and a love of gardening. She enjoyed watching birds and had quite a collection of ceramic birds. Joyce was a friend to many. Most she met through her church home or her Bridge groups. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Tony; two sons, Brian (Sally) Gilman and Cory (Marla) Gilman; granddaughter, Sophie Gilman; her mother, Dora Schmidt; two brothers, John Schmidt and James (Paula) Schmidt; two sisters, Joanne (Kenneth) Harste and Julie (Steve) Pitt; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Joyce was preceded in death by her father.

A Memorial Service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Reverend Kevin Froelich officiating. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
