Steven Ray DuBois, 65, of Winona, left us for heaven on June 1, 2014, after a very brave battle with cancer.
Born in Winona, Minn., Steve had a successful rubbish removal business. He also recently held various jobs working for local farmers. His employers and patrons had many nice things to say about him and quite a few had been long-time loyal customers.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Raymond DuBois Sr.; his sister, Nancy DuBois; and his brothers, Lawrence and Raymond DuBois Jr. He is survived by his mother, Delores DuBois; and his two children, Laurie Carney, Watkins, Minn., and Christopher DuBois, Winona, Minn.
Steve was an extremely kind and generous person who valued his family and friends. He was a hard worker and also found value in many things other people would throw out in the trash. His hobbies included playing internet games, collecting antiques, and watching movies. His favorite activity was taking care of his dogs, Libby and Abbie, who will miss him very much.
Like his sister, his last wonderful, unselfish act of kindness was to donate his body to research at the University of Minnesota. His eyes will keep on seeing for someone else who will be able to enjoy better vision because of him. Steve will be sadly missed every day.
Steve’s family members wish to express their appreciation and gratitude to the Winona Manor hospice staff for their care and support in his final days.
There is no memorial service planned at this time. If you would like to send sympathy wishes to Steve’s mother, Delores, please feel free to send cards and letters to her at:
