Stephen “Steve” Laird Ihrke (06/16/2014)
Stephen “Steve” Laird Ihrke, age 64, of Elk Grove Village, Ill. for 32 years and formerly of Lewiston, Minn., died Sunday, June 8, 2014, at his home.

Stephen was born in Winona, Minn., on March 23, 1950. He was the son of Ellsworth and Frances (Mueller) Ihrke and a veteran of the U.S. Navy Seabees.

Stephen married Patsy R. (Gehring) Ihrke on May 23, 1970. He was employed as plant manager at Liberty Tire in Chicago, Ill.

He is survived by his children, Matthew Steven Ihrke and Nicole Pollace Ihrke, of Elk Grove Village, Ill., Trevor Scott Ihrke and Tammy Smith of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Jessi Brianne (Ihrke) Trigg and Michael Trigg of Elk Grove Village, Ill.; grandchildren, Kristen Ihrke, Jacob Ihrke, Corey Ihrke, Piper Trigg, and Skylar Trigg; brothers and sisters,Tom and Jodi Ihrke, of Fort Myers, Fla.; Jim and Mary Lou Ihrke, of Madison Lake, Minn.; Karen (Ihrke) Moger and Gary Moger, of Winona, Minn.; Larry Ihrke and Brenda Jandl, of Golden Valley, Minn.; Keith and Dora Ihrke, of Anchorage Alaska; Paul and Sandy Ihrke, of St. Charles, Minn.; Mary (Ihrke) and Bob Nakaki, of Stockton, Calif.; Joe and Angela Ihrke, of Chanhassen, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellsworth E. Ihrke and Frances Ihrke; brother, John Ihrke; sister, Carol Ihrke; sister-in-law, Darlene (Mrs. Tom) Ihrke; and niece, Emily (Ihrke) Akerberg.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 21, at 11:00 a.m. at Goodview Days Pavilion, located at 4155 West Fifth Street in Winona, Minn. Memorial donations can be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, http://pages.lightthenight.org/il/WSuburbn14/SIhrke.
