Mn/DOT to host bridge outreach meeting June 19 (06/18/2014)
The Minnesota Department of Transportation will hold a public outreach meeting Thursday, June 19, to review the Winona bridge project-related community goals collected from the March 27 community meeting, discuss recommendations to help achieve the goals, and to define risks to achieving the goals.

The meeting will be held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., June 19, at Wanek Hall, Winona County Historical Center, 160 Johnson Street, Winona. Mn/DOT Project Manager Terry Ward will provide a project update.

The project began detailed planning in 2009 and is expected to begin visible construction work this July.

The estimated $150 million to $175 million project will build a new two-lane bridge across the Mississippi River on Highway 43 and the existing Highway 43 bridge will be rehabilitated for continued use. Ames Construction is the prime contractor for the project.

For more information on the project go to the Mn/DOT project page at www.mndot.gov/winonabridge. There is also a Facebook page at www.facebook.com/WinonaBridge.
