Erickson, Eugene Robert (06/25/2014)
Eugene Robert Erickson, 88, of Lewiston, died Friday, June 20, 2014, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford.

Eugene was born May 21, 1926, in Stockton, to Edwin and Florence (Verdick) Erickson. While working for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad, he met, fell in love with, and then married his lifelong companion, Marion Williams, on August 12, 1950. He farmed his entire life in the Stockton and Lewiston area. After retirement from the railroad, he found great joy in driving the Semcac bus in St. Charles and touching the lives of those children in a positive way. Eugene came to know the Lord and encouraged his family in their faith, always leading by example.

He is survived by his wife, Marion; seven children, Beverly (Dave) Griggs, Steve (Marion) Erickson, Gregory (Jeanne) Erickson, Barry (Pam) Erickson, Pam Erickson, Cindy (Lorne) Kellogg, and Nathan (Julie) Erickson; 18 grandchildren, Jason (Melissa) Griggs, Chelsie (Shon Hartman) Griggs, Colby (Rachel) Griggs, Dana (Adam) Reps, Marcus (Jessica) Erickson, Lucas Erickson, Christopher Erickson, Heather (Mark) Beerman, Brandon (Michelle) Erickson, Brittany (Adam) Loven, Hannah Erickson, Kaitlin (Dustin) Jinks, Rachel, Brook, Nicole, Austin, Abigail and Isaac Erickson; 24 great-grandchildren; sister, Lorraine Krenz; sister-in-law, Judy Erickson; two exchange students who became part of the family, Juan Rodriquez of Costa Rica and Wil Memheere of the Netherlands; and many nieces and nephews.

Eugene was preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Hannah Griggs; brother, Edwin Erickson; and brother-in-law, Clarence Krenz.

A Memorial Service will be at 2 p.m., Monday, June 23, 2014, at Hoff Celebration of Life Center Goodview, led by David Bergh. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, and one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Please share a memory of Eugene, sign his online guestbook and view his video tribute when it becomes available at www.hofffuneral.com.
