Police investigate death of camper (07/09/2014)
By Amelia Wedemeyer
On Friday, July 4, the body of a deceased 57-year-old Rochester woman was found inside a car at a Great River Bluffs State Park campsite. At 4:49 p.m., Winona County Sheriff’s deputies were called to investigate after the woman had failed to check out of her campsite by the 4 p.m. checkout time. The woman was found inside her car with no signs of foul play, obvious injury or trauma. She appeared to be alone at the time of her death. The body is currently in Rochester for an autopsy.

The Winona County Sheriff’s Department declined to release the name of the woman because they had not been able to reach her relatives.
