October is Disability Employment Awareness Month. This Celebration provides an opportunity to acknowledge the contributions that people with disabilities make to our society. It also offers time to reflect on our commitment and accomplishments in providing program access to our services.
The Winona Rehabilitation Services staff, a partner in the Winona WorkForce Center, would like to help observe Disability Employment Awareness Month by sponsoring an informal forum regarding job placement for those with disabilities in the Winona area.
Various employment placement vendors, utilized by the local Rehabilitation Services Office, have been invited to participate as the panel for this informal discussion. Representatives from Winona ORC, Riverfront, Peterson Rehab, Independent Vocational Services and Rehab Services Placement Counselor, Mary Jane Cowden, will be the members of a panel of experts to give information and answer questions. The discussion will provide an excellent opportunity for employers, customers, staff and community members to ask questions and discuss issues involving this important aspect of employment for Minnesotans with disabilities.
The date for this forum is Tuesday, October 21, 2003, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am in the Conference Room of the Winona WorkForce Center at 1250 Homer Road, Winona.
