It's our fault (10/10/2004)
From: Lorraine Redig

Winona

It's our own fault that our nation isn't truly ".. under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all."

Our nation's god is "Profit" and its creed is "Competition." This faith in profit and property is a publicly supported religion that is taught in the areas where faith in our wonderful God of Love isn't supposed to be mentioned for fear of violating freedom of religion.

The poor get poorer because those who worship profits use an old tradition that degrades farmers, labor and many others as "costs" that need to be kept at a minimum. This ancient, unjust "supply and demand system" guarantees unequal opportunity. It denies human rights to many citizens in order to deliver super wealth to the "successful".

Those who don't worship profits have to use the same economic policy in order to survive.

The conservative policy makers that serve the greedy can't stay in power without Christian support, so they cry, "Lord!, Lord!" and anti-abortionists elect the idolators. That assures that spiritual and economic poverty, pollution and the threat of terrorism will remain.

Let's wake up. Christians are supposed to work together, but we fight over how to stop the bad results of the ungodly policy, but outlawing the murder and abortion doesn't touch the spiritual poverty that triggers the death choice.

Our hypocrisy reveals our own spiritual impoverishment. It turns our kids off from God and doesn't teach them to love God or one another.

The idolators don't learn from our lives that there is a happier purpose for life than keeping power to accumulate profits and we think we are faithful Christians!

By working against each other we have prevented our own victory.

Let's kick the greedy idolators out of power in November.

Than together, lets build a society based on love, justice and peace. We can do it when we forgive each other because Christians are the majority if we work together.
