Please take notice that the Port Authority of Winona, Minnesota proposes to sell real estate herein described as follows to Maritime Heritage Society:
The following described Parcel 1 being part of Government Lot 3, Section 22, Township 107, Range 7, Winona County, Minnesota, described as follows:
Commencing at the west quarter corner of said Section 22; thence on an assumed bearing of North 00 degrees 02 minutes 33 seconds East, along the west line of said Section 22, a distance of 939.52 feet to the center line of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers flood control dike; thence North 88 degrees 49 minutes 01 seconds East, along said center line, 546.40 feet to a boundary corner on said center line; thence North 86 degrees 40 minutes 19 seconds East, along said center line, 39.04 feet to the point of beginning said Parcel 1; thence continue North 86 degrees 40 minutes 19 seconds East, along said center line, 161.04 feet to a boundary corner on said center line; thence North 89 degrees 04 minutes 58 seconds East, along said center line, 223.45 feet; thence on a bearing of North, 865.88 feet to the center line of Crooked Slough Channel as described in the perpetual right of way easement dated June 22, 1956, and recorded in Book 19 of Miscellaneous on page 267 in the office of the County Recorder in and for said Winona County; thence westerly along said center line of Crooked Slough Channel, 388.82 feet to the intersection of a line bearing North from the point of beginning; thence on a bearing of South, along said last intersected line, 819.35 feet to the point of beginning.
Excepting therefrom all that part of said Parcel 1 lying southerly of a line distant 35.00 feet northerly of, as measured at right angles to, and parallel with the following described line A:
Commencing at said west quarter corner of Section 22; thence on an assumed bearing of North 00 degrees 02 minutes 33 seconds East, along said west line of Section 22, a distance of 934.81 feet to the point of beginning said Line A; thence North 88 degrees 35 minutes 07 seconds East, 1163.92 feet, and said Line A there terminating.
The land will be devoted for use as a maritime museum and interpretive center. Terms and conditions of the sale are available for public inspection at the Office of the Port Authority of Winona, in care of the Community Development Office, City Hall, 207 Lafayette Street, Room 210, Winona, Minnesota. A public hearing to determine the advisability of the sale of property to the Maritime Heritage Society will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2004 at 4:00 p.m. at the Winona City Hall in the Council Chambers.
