Kiwanis offers $700 scholarship (11/28/2004)

The Kiwanis Sunrisers of Winona is encouraging local high school seniors who plan to attend a college, university, or vocational school in Minnesota, North Dakota, or South Dakota next year to apply for a $700 scholarship before January 21, 2005. Students who attend school in a city where a Kiwanis Club meets or where a Kiwanis Club member resides are eligible to apply. Schools eligible in Winona County include, Cotter High School, Winona Senior High School, Hope Lutheran School, and St. Charles High School.
Applicants will be required to complete an application form and write a letter telling of his/her academic and extra-curricular achievements and career selection. A letter of recommendation and a copy of the students"š transcript must also be submitted.
Application forms have been sent to eligible schools in the area. Those interested in applying for the Kiwanis Educational Scholarship should contact their school counselor as soon as possible.
