Round 1C, the final preliminary round of High School Challenge "” a tournament of knowledge sponsored by Saint Mary's University "” took place Saturday, Nov. 20.
The teams competing played two matches. The results are as follows:
Morning match
Onalaska defeated Cotter, 80-50
La Crescent defeated Blair-Taylor, 105-0
West Salem defeated Youth Initiative, 145-75
Eau Claire Regis received a forfeit
Seneca received a forfeit
Starmont received a forfeit
Afternoon match
Onalaska defeated La Crescent, 150-110
Eau Claire Regis defeated West Salem, 110-105
Cotter defeated Blair-Taylor, 55-35
West Salem defeated La Crescent, 130-90
Seneca defeated Starmont, 135-45
Youth Initiative received a forfeit
Thirty-two teams have competed for a spot in the Super Bowl and consolation finals. The high school teams advancing to the consolation finals are: Bangor, North Crawford, Eleva-Strum, Lewiston-Altura, Cotter, West Salem, Youth Initiative and Starmont. The teams advancing to the Super Bowl finals are: Winona Senior High, Eau Claire Memorial, Logan, Osseo-Fairchild, Decorah, Onalaska, Eau Claire Regis and Seneca.
The consolation finals will be held 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, in the World Room of the Hendrickson Center at Saint Mary's. The Super Bowl will take place 9 a.m. Saturday, March 5, in Figliulo Recital Hall, located in SMU's Page Theatre.
