On Thursday, August 18, the Winona Area Chamber of Commerce will be offering a two hour workshop MN Gives - When to Say Yes and How to Say No. This workshop is designed to help business owners make wise decisions about which community programs to support, strengthen ties to customers and the community, and keep track of where company giving resources are going each year. Creating a charitable giving plan need not be complicated, and this workshop will help simplify the process to a few basic steps.
Each participant will receive a copy of the newly published 96-page Minnesota Business Giving and Community Involvement Workbook as a guide for the workshop discussion. Using the forms from the workbook, participants will leave with the outline of a giving plan for his/her specific business. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to talk about setting up a budget, evaluating efforts and ways to involve employees in the company giving plan.
Reservations for this workshop are required. The workshop will be held on Thursday, August 18, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Library Room of the Quality Inn. Cost per person is $35, which includes lunch and all materials. Contact the Winona Area Chamber of Commerce at 452-2272 for reservations or more information, or register online at www.winonachamber.com.
