Kuklinski, Arlene M.


Arlene M. (Kulas) Kuklinski passed away Monday, December 19, 2005, surrounded by her beloved husband and family.

She was born in Winona, on October 26, 1938, to Edward (Rook) and Leona (Mauszycki) Kulas. She was a lifelong resident of Winona. She attended St. Stanislaus Grade School and graduated in 1956 from Winona Senior High School.

On September 10, 1960, she and George Kuklinski were united in marriage at St. Stanislaus Parish of which they have been lifelong members.

She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, George, of Winona; a son, David, of Winona; a daughter, Carol (Kris) Speltz, of Minnesota City, Minn.; five grandchildren, Tiffany (Joel) Kanz, Aaron and Andrew Kuklinski, Tyler and Jadyn Speltz; and great-granddaughter, Madison Kanz. She is also survived by many special and close friends and relatives especially cousins, Susan Tulius (Marvin) Hoogendam of Merced, Calif., Michael (Jane) Voelker of Winona, Frank Kulas of Wilson, Minn., Leroy (Alice) Heftman of St. Paul, Minn., and Tom (Leone) Mauszycki of Winona; and lifelong friend, Lorraine (Jim) Walske, of Trempealeau, Wis.

Arlene is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Carol, at birth.

Arlene was employed at Hayes-Lucas Lumber Exchange (UBC) from 1956-1968, Peerless Chain Company from 1968-1998, the Winona Country Club for 45 years, and part-time at Watlow Controls from 2001-2005.

Arlene loved life and people. She will be remembered for many kind acts and service to her family, friends and the community. She and George were always the first to volunteer and take control of countless services and acts of kindness for her family and friends. She was a caretaker and "caterer" in every sense of the word. She could never say no to anyone or any project where her talents could make a difference or benefit someone.

Casketbearers will be Andrew Kuklinski, Aaron Kuklinski, Marvin Hoogendam, James Walske, Lance Voelker, Stan Czaplewski, Leroy Gunderson and Ron Schultz.

Honorary casketbearers will be Roy Heftman, Michael Voelker, Art Tulius, Frank Kulas, John Michalowski, and Ray Becker.

Visitation will be held at Watkowski-Pronschinske Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 21, from 4-8 p.m. Preliminary services will be on Thursday, December 22, at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Stanislaus Church at 11 a.m. with Reverend Thomas Hargesheimer officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
