Winona County ASAP hosts Rx Drug Take-Back

When communities talk, prevention is possible

The Winona County Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention (ASAP) is hosting a National Rx Drug Take-Back Day event on Saturday, October 22, 2016. This drive-through event will take place in the Winona Health parking lot (Mankato Avenue, clinic side) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The first 50 people will receive a free ice cream cone certificate from Courtesy Corporation - McDonald’s.

National Rx Drug Take-Back Day is an opportunity to safely dispose of all the extra prescription drugs you have at home. If not disposed of properly, these substances can harm the environment if flushed or become misused by youth to sell, get high, or self-medicate. If you would like to participate, please bring all your expired or unused prescription medications to the event in their original containers, and blacken or scratch out personal information on the containers.

Winona County ASAP is a coalition of community members devoted to cultivating a drug-free culture for children and teens in the Winona area. You can learn more by visiting or calling 507-474-2727.
