The Winona Athletic Board will be meeting on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at 10 a.m. in the Minnesota room at City Hall, 2017 Lafayette Street, Winona. The purpose of the meeting is to review an amendment to the lease with Westfield Golf Club allowing them to subcontract for food and beverage services.


January 5


Cathedral’s Young at Heart will meet on Jan. 5t. staring with 12:10 mass followed by a lunch of meatloaf, scalloped potatoes, creamed peas, cranberry fluff, rolls, and lemon pie. Make reservations by calling Kay at 474-0997 no later than Jan. 3rd. Cost is $4.00; all are welcome.


January 8


The Winona Area Coin Club will be meeting on Saturday, January 8, at noon at the Green Mill on Highway 61 in Winona. Upcoming events will be discussed. Purchase of lunch is optional.


January 12


    The Hiawatha Valley Civil War Round Table and the Winona County Historical Society will be sponsoring a joint meeting on Thursday, January 12, at 7:00 p.m., at  the Winona County History Center, 160 Johnson Street, Winona.


     State Representative Gene Pelowski ‘s presentation will deal with an issue that has attracted a lot of attention recently.  He will be discussing “The Civil War paintings in the Minnesota State Capitol  building.”


All are invited to learn about. the current status  of these paintings  Refreshments will be provided.



Winona’s Bone Builders will now be offered Monday – Friday from 8:30 – 9:30 AM at First Free Church, located in the Winona Mall.  All material needed are provided free of charge.  If you are planning to attend for the first time, please arrive a little early to complete some necessary paperwork.  This spring, a 12 week program called Fit & Strong, with exercises geared especially for those with osteoarthritis, will also be offered.  For more information, contact Sue Degallier, Common Good RSVP Coordinator, at 507-454-2270 ext. 235 or email


Al-Anon Family Group meets on Thursdays from 7-8 p.m. in the St. Augustine Room, Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 360 Main Street. This group is a 12-step fellowship for families of problem drinkers. Call 452-4445 for more information.

TOPS Minn. #263 Winona New members are welcome. Learn how to lose weight  and keep it off. The group meets on Wednesdays. Weigh-in is between 8-8:50 a.m. and the meeting runs from 9-9:50 a.m. at Callista Court, 1455 West  Broadway.


Every Tuesday and Wednesday at Grace Place, 66 East Second Street, from 6-8 p.m. there are community enrichment meetings. The group discusses topics that create stumbling blocks in people’s lives and how they can overcome them. The group covers anger management, guilt versus shame, triggers, NLP, arrested development, criminalistic backgrounds, abuse, addictions, childhood wounds, self esteem, self confidence, perceptions, and so much more. Addicted? Set Free! is a 12-week program to help members achieve victory over addicting behaviors. New members are welcome any time.  This group meets weekly at Calvary Baptist Church, 676 West Sarnia Street, Winona,  at 7 p.m. on Thursday evenings. For more information call 452-6850.

Caregiver Support Group for Adults Age 55 and Better This group provides an opportunity to meet with other caregivers to exchange helpful tips, give and receive support, as well as learn about new resources.
