Jazz musicians play to raise hurricane relief funds

Café Congo at First Congregational Church welcomes back SMU’s Eric Heukeshoven and his talented band of musicians on this coming Thursday, November 30, at 7 p.m. for a free jazz concert. They’ll be “playing it forward” and raising money through a free-will offering to help the victims of those devastating hurricanes in Puerto Rico, Florida and Texas. The first set will feature Saint Mary’s University’s Jazz Combo 1, playing many jazz favorites with a few surprises! As a special treat, the second set will feature the newly formed jazz trio, H3O, comprised of the musically-talented men of the Heukeshoven family: Eric, Hans and Max. So if you enjoy listening to great jazz, come out and raise needed money for neighbors to the south as they repair their lives after the hurricanes. Food and beverages will be served. Doors will open at 6:45. Please use the Johnson Street canopied entrance. For more information please call 452-5533.
