Winona Health Foundation Trees of Light: This tradition continues

(12/2/2020)

The Trees of Light tradition offers an opportunity for gifts to stay local, to help fellow community members, by remembering and honoring special people through a gift to the Winona Health Foundation. Those who give may direct their gift to a specific fund or to the area of greatest need, knowing their gift will help those right here in our community.

“The threat posed by COVID-19 has disrupted just about every aspect of life. Now it looms over this joyous time of year, jeopardizing many cherished holiday traditions,” said Ken Mogren, Winona Health board chair. “One holiday tradition COVID can’t suppress is Winona Health’s Trees of Light tradition. It’s an opportunity to lift your spirit through acknowledging people who are special to you with a gift in their honor or memory. What also feels good, is knowing your gift helps others.”

Donations to the Trees of Light campaign may be made online, in person at the foundation office on the first floor of the hospital at Winona Health, 855 Mankato Avenue in Winona or by mail to that address.

The names of those honored and remembered with a gift to the Winona Health Foundation received by December 31 will be published in the Winona Post along with the names of those who gave. Please allow two weeks from the time of giving to seeing names published.

The Foundation’s Trees of Light ill remain lit through the beginning of January.

The Trees of Lights tradition began in 1988. Last year’s campaign raised nearly $38,500 to benefit patients, residents and community members through Winona Health.
