Winona Police 

Tuesday, May 4

• At 6:10 a.m. officers received a report that someone allegedly left counterfeit $20 bills as part of a transaction for a phone sold online. The seller reported that they left the phone in a mailbox overnight on the 600 block of East 12th Street for the buyer to pick up, and the buyer allegedly left counterfeit $20 bills for the phone. The incident is under investigation. 

• At 2:52 p.m. officers received a report that someone was threatened by a person with a handgun on the 1750 block of West Seventh Street. The incident is under investigation.

• At 4:07 p.m. officers received a report that a 2020 black Honda moped was stolen from a driveway on the 750 block of West 10th Street. 

• At 5:28 p.m. officers received a report that someone was struck by a vehicle while bicycling on Fifth and Lafayette streets. The incident is under investigation.

• At 7:30 p.m. officers arrested Skyler Shane Ehlenfeldt, 24, of Winona, on an eight-hour probation hold and referred him to the county attorney for potential charges of tampering with a vehicle and possessing a small amount of marijuana. According to the report, someone observed Ehlenfeldt allegedly rummaging through a vehicle on Eighth and Chestnut streets. Officers located him, according to the report, and allegedly found the vehicle owner’s ID and debit debit card, as well as a small amount of marijuana, with Ehlenfeldt. 

• At 11:52 p.m. officers received a report that someone was struck in the head by someone they knew on the 700 block of East Broadway. The incident is under investigation. 

Saturday, May 8

• At 3:19 a.m. officers received a report that someone kicked and dented the fender of a vehicle on the 1700 block of West Fifth Street. 

• At 4:49 p.m. officers received a report that a wallet was stolen out of an unlocked vehicle on the 600 block of East Fifth Street. According to the report, the credit card in the wallet has since been used in Wabasha, Minn. The incident is under investigation. 

• At 7:40 p.m. officers arrested Hunter Richard Bolduan, 20, of Winona, and referred him to the county attorney for potential charges of third-degree driving while intoxicated and driving after suspension. They also cited Aron James Franzwa, 20, of Winona, with underaged consumption. Officers pulled Bolduan over after receiving a report of him and Franzwa allegedly stumbling and slurring their speech on Second and Johnson streets before getting into a vehicle and leaving. 

Monday, May 10

• At 8:20 a.m. officers arrested James Leslie Wilder, 48, of Rochester, Minn., and referred him to the county attorney for potential charges of domestic assault by strangulation and misdemeanor domestic assault. He allegedly punched, threw and choked someone on the 850 block of West Fifth Street. 

 

Winona County 

Wednesday, May 5

• At 9:44 a.m. deputies received a report that a vehicle was stolen on the 24,000 block of Green Terrace Way. According to the report, the victim said someone known to them entered their home and took their keys before stealing their vehicle. The incident is under investigation. 

Friday, May 9

• At 8:21 p.m. deputies arrested Kathleen Marie Sherwin, 57, of Maple Grove, Minn., and referred her to the county attorney for potential charges of fourth-degree driving while intoxicated and third-degree test refusal. The arrest occurred after deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash on Highway 61 and Whitman Deering Drive, according to the report. Sherwin allegedly refused to take a breath test.
