Great River Shakespeare Festival (GRSF) hosted its sixth annual Will Run on Sunday, July 21, around Lake Winona to raise money for the festival. The Will Run — a 28-furlong race (about 3.6 miles) — was founded by Dee Cipov, and has been supported by a dedicated group of volunteers over the years. This year’s overall male winners were Carter Briggs in first place, who finished in 18 minutes and 50 seconds, and Cody Peterson, who finished in 19 minutes 47 seconds. This year’s overall female winners were Katie Plecko in first place, who finished in 25 minutes 32 seconds, and second place was Hannah Siegher, who finished in 26 minutes 29 seconds.
The festival would like to thank the Will Run sponsors, as well as the volunteers on the Will Run committee: Paul Mundt, Kathy Hovell, Deb McClellan, Dan Krumholz, Michelle Pearson-Langowski. Other community volunteers include Ray Felton, Bert and Marge Mohs, Pat Nolan, and Tom Slaggie. This year, the Will Run raised over $2,500 for the festival.
