Armed robbery at Verizon store



On Saturday, November 9, Winona Police Department officers received a report of an armed robbery at the Verizon store. Two male employees of the Verizon store at 930 Frontenac Drive reported that at about 7 p.m., someone had come through the front door with a handgun and made them go into a back room. After tying the employees’ wrists and ankles, the suspect started to fill two bags with phones, according to the report. The suspect reportedly stole about 100 cellphones and around $400 in cash before exiting and potentially entering a vehicle that someone else was driving. The employees were not harmed.

According to the report, the suspect was described as a black male wearing a blue jacket with the hood up and a blue bandana obscuring his face, and the handgun he allegedly brandished was black in color. The vehicle reportedly had square tail lights.
