Cafe Congo to benefit Habitat

First Congregational Church of Winona formed its Cafe Congo music ministry five years ago as a fundraiser for social justice organizations, and so far it has raised over $17,000!

On Thursday, March 26, at 7 p.m., H3O Jazz Trio and St Mary’s Jazz Combo 1 will perform to benefit Habitat for Humanity Winona-Fillmore Counties. Admission is a free-will offering at the door. The church is located at 161 West Broadway in Winona.

This Sunday, January 26, kicks off Cafe Congo’s fifth season. Artaria String Quartet, an internationally acclaimed chamber music ensemble cited as “Minnesota’s foremost chamber music ensemble” by the St. Paul Pioneer Press, will perform a free-will donation concert to help fund Cafe Congo’s annual operating costs. A reception for the artists will follow the concert.

The building is handicap accessible at the Johnson Street canopied entrance. The First Congregational Church of Winona is an open and affirming community of faith that welcomes all.
