On Saturday, June 12, at 7:30 p.m., at Wesley United Methodist Church in Winona, the Winona Symphony Orchestra (WSO) will be offering its first in-person performance since the start of the pandemic. WSO is excited to partner with our neighbors to the south, welcoming members of the Apollo Music Festival from Houston, Minn., as our featured soloists.
Included on the program are works by two historic women composers, American Ruth Crawford Seeger and English suffragette Ethel Smyth. The concert will feature Seeger’s “Rissolty Rossolty,” Smyth’s “Serenade in D,” and Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Triple Concerto for Violin, Cello, and Piano in C major, Op. 56” with violinist Roy Meyer, cellist Ruth Marshall, and pianist Garret Ross.
