Local author to read from memoir

Please join the WSU Retiree Center for a virtual book reading and discussion with Kent Cowgill, professor emeritus, English. “PurebRED: Confessions and Obsessions of a Nebraska Husker Superfan” interweaves memorable experiences in the author’s life with the many ways they have been impacted by a lifelong passion for Nebraska football. The book provides an inside look at the private, often quirky life of a Winona State English professor, from his childhood on the Nebraska prairie through 30 eventful years in the lovely town on the banks of the Mississippi River that he has long called home.

Kent will read some of his favorite selections from the book and afterwards will open up a question and answer session and conversation with the audience. This should be a wonderful evening, and we hope you can join us!

The event will be held on Thursday, March 4, at 7 p.m. Please email the Retiree Center at retiree@winona.edu, and a Zoom link and password will be sent to you.

“PureBRED” is available online through Amazon, at Barnes & Noble bookstores, and locally at Paperbacks and Pieces.
