Altra Federal Credit Union raised over $21,000 nationally with its Drive Away Hunger Campaign.
Altra donated $10 for every car, truck, and motorcycle loan financed through Altra from October 1 through November 30. Members who matched Altra’s $10 donation were rewarded with a rate discount. Members contributed over 30 percent of the total dollars raised. Altra partnered with The Hunger Task Force in La Crosse, Wis.; Winona Volunteer Services in Winona, Minn.; Empty Bowls in Clarksville, Tenn.; East Texas Food Bank in Tyler, Texas; and Channel One Regional Food Bank in Rochester, Minn. Marketing communications for each recipient organization highlighted hunger statistics in their community to generate awareness of the need.
Altra’s donation of $2,180 to Winona Volunteer Services will benefit local citizens in the community requiring food assistance.
“Altra is playing a pivotal role in supporting those in need,” said Sandra Burke, Winona Volunteer Services Executive Director. “This generous gift will help us keep the food shelf stocked this winter so no family goes hungry in our community.”
