Elder Network, MCA launch Grateful Grandparents walking group

(8/26/2020)

Elder Network in Winona, and for all of Winona County, reports that the companion program continues to be strong as it supports current and new clients in their homes. Barb Parker, Winona County program coordinator, reported, “Elder Network is happy that our volunteer and companion programs continue to serve more citizens in our city during these uncertain times.”

Parker stated, “We are launching a new Grateful Grandparents walking group on Monday, August 24, 2020, at 8 a.m. Participants will meet at East Lake Winona at the boat launch parking lot off of Hamilton. We will walk for 30 minutes —15 minutes each way as we enjoy the beauty of late summer and the upcoming fall season in Winona.” All grandparents are invited, all levels of walking encouraged. The group will start slowly and provide encouragement and socialization in the fresh out of doors.
