Teamsters Local 120, in cooperation with the Winona Main Street Program and Jovy Rockey Jewelry, has secured fresh food boxes to distribute to the community through the USDA Farmers to Families program. This free program is open to all and will help get free food boxes into the hands of folks that are in need.
Organizers know that lots of people in the community can benefit from this program and are excited that on Saturday, October 31, at 2 p.m. a full semi-truck carrying approximately 24 wrapped pallets of boxes of food and gallons of milk will be delivered to Jovy Rockey Jewelry in Winona for distribution. This equates to 1,188 boxes of food and 1,188 gallons of milk. The distribution ends when supplies are depleted. (The event will not continue past 6:30 p.m.) Organizers encourage everyone to share this incredible event on your social media pages and let your friends and family members know they are welcome to come out and grab some groceries.
This outdoor volunteer event will follow the Minnesota Department of Health COVID-19 guidelines and recommended protocols for safety. Masks and gloves will be provided to volunteers who need them.
Teamsters Local 120 covers large portions of Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Iowa and is dedicated to fighting for increased rights for workers and communities
