Winona Police

Tuesday, November 12

• At 9:01 a.m. officers received a report of battery stolen from a boat parked on the 200 block of Whitten Street.

• At 1:21 p.m. officers received a report from a man who reported witnessing someone throw a brick through a car window on the 400 block of East Ninth Street. Officers are still seeking the subject.

• At 12:56 p.m. a Winona man reported that his Winona State University laptop was stolen from the first floor of the Darrell W. Krueger Library sometime between November 8 and November 12.

Wednesday, November 13

• At 3:40 p.m. a Winona man reported that tools had been stolen from a detached garage on the 150 block of East Eighth Street.

• At 5:55 p.m. officers ticketed Douglas Cornelius Lewis, 21, of La Crosse, Wis., with theft by shoplifting and providing a false name to police at Walmart. 


Thursday, November 14

• At 1 a.m. officers arrested Rick Elijah Lowry, 40, of Winona, and referred him to the county attorney for a potential charge of fourth-degree driving while intoxicated after finding him asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle on West Fourth and Olmstead streets. A breath test reportedly measured his blood alcohol content at 0.15 percent.

• At 6:38 a.m. officers ticketed Eddie Lee Stinson, 28, of Winona, with theft after a Winona woman reported that a package was missing from a hallway at Bluffview Flats.

• At 8:10 a.m. officers ticketed Taquana Darshell Wilson, 36, of Winona, with disorderly conduct after she reportedly tore a temporary clear plastic rear window off a vehicle at Maplewood Townhomes.

Friday, November 15

• Officers issued 161 tickets on the first night of alternate-side parking.

Winona County

Monday, November 11

• At 3:15 p.m. deputies received a burglary report from a Rochester man who said that someone broke into his camper at a campground near Kay’s Meadow west of Altura and stole two sleeping bags, a Coleman lantern, a fishing rod and reel, and a picnic table umbrella with a combined value of $360. The complainant believed the the burglary occurred in late September; he discovered it in late October, according to the report.

Tuesday, November 12

• At 7:40 a.m. deputies received a burglary report from a Rollingstone woman who said that someone broke into her camper at a campground near Kay’s Meadow west of Altura and stole a wheelbarrow and half a cord of firewood with a value of $95. According to the report, the burglary occurred sometime between September 28 and October 16.

Friday, November 15

• At 8 a.m. deputies ticketed Nicole Marie Thomas, 36, of Caledonia, with failure to stop at a stop sign after she reportedly ran a stop sign and went off the road near Burt Road and County Road 18. According to the report, a 35-year-old Caledonia man was a passenger in the vehicle, and he and the driver both sustained upper body injuries.
