Nellye Fay Rohlfing, age 91, of Winona, died Wednesday, January 3, 2007, at Lake Winona Manor.
Nellye was born October 9, 1915, in Witoka, MN, to Lewis and Myrtle (Hayter) Fay. She graduated from Winona Senior High in 1935. She was formerly married to Newell "Pete" Rohlfing. She had one son, Peter Rohlfing.
Nellye was employed at J.R. Watkins for 32 years, retiring in 1978. She served on Homer Township Board as treasurer for 42 years; served on Winona County Township Officer Associations Board for 10 years and Homer Township Ambulance Service Board for 12 years. She was a member of Homer United Methodist Church and a 60-year member of the Pickwick #191 Order of the Eastern Star.
Nellye is survived by her brother, John "Jack" Fay of Fergus Falls, MN; two nieces, Patricia Fay of Fergus Falls, MN and Vicki Fay (Niel) Monahan, Winona; one nephew Robert (Ardell) Fay of Graham, WA, and a sister-in-law, Marion Fay.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Peter Rohlfing, and a brother, Warren "Bud" Fay and a sister, Marion Fay Benson.
Funeral services for Nellye will be Saturday, January 6, 2007, at 2:00 PM at Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home, Winona, with Rev. Christine Robinson, officiating. Entombment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Winona, MN.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm at the funeral home on Saturday. An Eastern Star memorial service will begin at 1:45 PM.
