Richard Kolter, age 67, of Winona, died Friday, December 17, 2010, at his home.
Richard was born July 2, 1943, to Andrew and Evelyn (Brandt) Kolter in Winona. A life-long area resident, he graduated from Winona Senior High and Winona State University. He was a mathematics teacher at Winona Junior High School and worked for the Winona Area Public School District for 32 years. He also worked at Westfield Golf Club as a teenager and continued his employment for over 53 years and was the course superintendent for most of his career.
He is survived by an aunt, Clarise Grotjahn of Winona; a cousin, Karen Haines of Apple Valley, MN; other cousins; and his friends and colleagues at Westfield Golf Club, Winona Junior High School, Minnesota Transportation Museum and Winona Amateur Radio Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of Dick’s life will be 11:00 AM, Monday, December 27, 2010, at Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home, Winona, with Rev. Peter Huggenvik officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Winona.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday, December 26, at Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home and beginning at 10:00 AM Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to Westfield Golf Club in memory of Dick.
