Chili Cookoff raises $5K for Ready Set School

Through sales and donations, a total of $5,221.85 was raised for Ready Set School at the 27th Annual Chili Cookoff, sponsored by WNB Financial on Friday, February 12.

A large crowd braved the cold temperatures and enjoyed three varieties of chili from Steak Shop Catering at this year’s Chili Cookoff. A drive-through meal was available for lunch and dinner at the entrance of the Steak Shop Catering. Meals included a southwest brisket chili, white chicken chili, traditional beef chili, a Bloedow’s roll, chili toppings, and a dessert. A total of 523 meals were served. All proceeds from the Chili Cookoff benefited Ready Set School, helping to kick-off its annual fundraising campaign.

Ready Set School was created to ensure that all Winona County children have the basic and necessary school supplies to better succeed in school. For more information, please email Ready Set School Director Mandi Olson at or visit
