Cotter’s Graff makes All-State Choir

Congratulations to Cotter High School student Hannah Graff for the honor of being selected to participate in the Minnesota Music Educators Association (MMEA) All-State Choir for the 2020-2021 school year. The MMEA All-State Choir Camp is normally held the first week of August, but due to COVID-19, the summer camp was canceled. The MMEA All-State Choirs have been gathering virtually for the past months to rehearse their concert selections. The MMEA All-State Choirs will present their All-State Concert virtually as a part of the Minnesota Music Educators Association State Convention on Saturday, February 20, 2021.

The all-state music students have the opportunity to work with some of the finest conductors and music educators in the country, as well as meeting outstanding music students from all across the state of Minnesota. Hannah is singing alto one in the MMEA All-State Soprano/Alto Choir. The Soprano/Alto Choir is under the direction of Dr. Bret Amundson, Director of Choral Activities and the Director of General Education at The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minn.

Hannah is currently a senior at Cotter High School where she is in Concert Choir, Show Choir, and Divas (a select women’s ensemble). Other music ensembles that she participates in include Symphonic Band and Jazz Band at Cotter, and the La Crosse Youth Symphony Orchestra. She also participates in tennis, speech, mock trial, and math team.

Hannah is the daughter of Todd Graff and Laurie Ziliak. Hannah has made history at Cotter in that she was in All-State Band (French horn) her junior year, and All-State Choir her senior year. No one had ever accomplished being selected for both band and choir all-state ensembles before. Her choral director at Cotter Schools is Cathy Snyder.
