Auditions for Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre’s original musical production of “Alladin and His Magic Lamp” will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021, at 3:30 p.m. at the Rushford-Peterson High School Auditorium in Rushford.

Up to 81 children are needed to play the roles of Alladin, Harmonia, the sultan, Princess Serena, Zanda the tiger, the vizier, the genie of the ring, the slaves of the lamp and the ring, the maidens, the vagabonds, the merchants of bazaar, and the giant gemstones.

Auditions are open to anyone age 7 through 14. The audition process lasts up to two hours and all those auditioning are required to be in attendance for its entirety. The cast will be announced at the end of the two-hour audition; each cast member will receive a rehearsal schedule for the remainder of the week. Most of the cast will be required to stay following auditions for a short rehearsal. There will be a 15-minute break at 5:30, at which time a light lunch could be dropped off.

Rehearsals will be held from 3:30 to 7:45 throughout the remainder of the week, with performances scheduled for Friday, October 22, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, October 23,at 4 p.m.

Two professional actor/directors from the staff of Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre will direct the production and play the roles of the genie of the lamp and the evil magician.

This week-long Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre (PFCT) residency is being sponsored by the Rushford Area Society of the Arts (RASA) and RP Community Education. RASA has sponsored PFCT’s visit over MEA since 1989.
