Therese Ann Van Hoof (nee Andrysiak), of Pacific Palisades, Calif., passed away on August 12, 2021, at the age of 74, after a brief illness.
Therese is survived by her beloved husband, Tom; and her sisters, Jeannette Hillman (Al), Shelley Barger (Bert) and Dee Dee Feinberg (Alan); and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and cherished friends. She was pre-deceased by her sister, Lisa.
After graduating from nursing school in Indiana and relocating to Los Angeles, Therese’s career spanned many years in a variety of nursing, research and administrative positions at UCLA in Westwood and St. John’s in Santa Monica. During her career, she was appointed by the governor to the State of California Research Advisory Panel.
Therese was also an active member of various charitable and non-profit organizations, including Corpus Christi and St. Paul’s Catholic Churches and the Veterans Health Administration in Westwood.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Pacific Palisades on Friday, August 27, at 10 a.m., preceded by a Rosary at 9 a.m. After the Mass, interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, Calif. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Therese’s memory to Food for the Poor.
