Gale Star of Old Main will continue its “Under the Stars Concert Series” with a performance by the Coulee Creek Band Saturday, August 14, at 7 p.m. The Coulee Creek music will bring you the joy of bluegrass and gospel sounds. Beverages and pop-corn will be available. Bring lawn chairs and enjoy conversation with friends and neighbors. Free will donations for the concert are accepted.

Rev. Jim Riley has completed the third chapter of “The Ever-Whirling Wheels of Change,” a book that tells the story of George Gale and Old Main from 1832 into June of 2022. Lucinda Morken, who taught English at Gale College, wrote two chapters with the narrative ending in 1981. Riley has updated the story with a third chapter that updates the narrative through Founders Day in June of 2022 and the first “Twesme Family Past and Future Horizons awards.” It is expected that the book will be available for sale at $15 a copy at the concert. Riley will be there to sign copies. Copies can be ordered if publication is delayed.
