One person died and two suffered life-threatening injuries after a head-on collision on Highway 14 south of Winona on August 5.
Christ George Brown, 58, of Winona, sustained fatal injuries. According to the Minnesota State Patrol (MSP), he was not wearing a seatbelt. The crash occurred on Stockton Hill around 2:45 p.m., where the highway curves sharply past Seminary Drive. A sedan driven by a 55-year-old Winona woman and headed west/south collided head on with a pickup truck headed north/east, driven by an 18-year-old Oronoco, Minn., man, according to MSP. The Oronoco teen, who was not wearing a seatbelt, the Winona woman, and Brown were all critically injured and rushed to hospitals in Rochester, Minn., and La Crosse, Wis.
Alcohol was not involved, according to the state patrol.
