Winona Police 

Wednesday, February 10 

∙ At 7:15 a.m. officers received a report that a person struck another person with a baseball bat in a residence on the 500 block of Hamilton Street, then fled. No serious injuries were reported. The incident is under investigation. 

Thursday, February 11

∙ At 9:01 p.m. officers arrested Mason Sean Maloney, 20, of Winona, and referred him to the county attorney for potential charges of second-degree assault and domestic assault. According to the report, Maloney allegedly ran after someone with a knife in an apartment on the 900 block of East Eighth Street and stabbed a door inside the apartment. 

Friday, February 12

∙ At 4:47 p.m. officers cited Donovan Cole Chandler, 36, of Winona, with violating an order for protection after seeing him getting dropped off on the 1600 block of West Fifth Street by someone the order prevented him from contacting. 

Sunday, February 14

∙ At 1:59 a.m. officers cited Louis Angel Gasca, 20, of St. Charles, with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to the report, officers initially pulled Gasca over for speeding on Fifth and Chestnut streets. They then reportedly found 11.91 grams of marijuana and a smoking pipe in his vehicle. 

∙ At 10:35 a.m. officers received a report that a vehicle’s windows were broken out on the 200 block of High Forest Street. 

 

Winona County 

Friday, February 12

∙ At 6:41 p.m. deputies cited Brett Allen Schindler, 20, of Cedar Falls, Wis., with possession of a small amount of marijuana after initially pulling him over for reportedly driving without headlights on Ninth Street. 

∙ At 11:11 p.m. deputies cited Troy Allen Banks, 34, of Winona, with driving without a license and possession of a small amount of marijuana after initially pulling him over for reportedly driving with an obstructed view on Franklin and Ninth streets. 

Sunday, February 14

∙ At 12:17 p.m. deputies arrested Bahama Jay Boehmke, 32, of Rochester, Minn., and referred him to the county attorney for potential charges of fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and providing a false name to officers. According to the report, deputies initially pulled Boehmke over for driving in St. Charles with an obstructed view. Deputies then reportedly found 1.4 grams of marijuana, suspected methamphetamine and a syringe in his vehicle. 

Saturday, February 15

∙ At 11:31 p.m. deputies arrested Tracy Allyn Benson, 49, of Minnesota City, and referred him to the county attorney for a potential charge of gross-misdemeanor domestic assault after responding to a report of a domestic assault in Minnesota City.
