Winona Police 

Tuesday, July 20

• At 9 a.m. officers received a report that three catalytic converters were stolen between July 16 and 20 on the 1100 block of East Fifth Street. 

• At 4 p.m. officers received a report that someone stole a bottle of alcohol from Midtown Foods. Officers believed they recognized the person, according to the report, but are still investigating. 

• At 8:44 p.m. officers arrested Brian Keith Moore, 33, of Columbia Heights, Minn., and referred him to the county attorney for a potential charge of violating a domestic abuse no contact order. According to the report, officers went to the 600 block of Main Street after receiving a 911 call during which the person on the line hung up. They reportedly found Moore at a residence with someone he is prohibited from contacting by the domestic abuse no contact order. 

 

Wednesday, July 21

• At noon officers received a report that a juvenile was allegedly sexually assaulted. The incident is under investigation. 

Thursday, July 22

Officers received a report that a vehicle was hit in a parking lot on the 1000 block of East Highway 61. The incident is under investigation. 

• At 7:15 p.m. officers arrested Michael Richard Zeller, 39, of Winona, and referred him to the county attorney for a potential charge of violating a harassment restraining order on the 1600 block of West Fifth Street. He allegedly sent several texts to someone he is prohibited from contacting by the harassment restraining order. 

Saturday, July 24

• At 12:20 a.m. officers received a report that a group of unknown men stole someone’s bag from them in front of Erbert and Gerbert’s. The men have not yet been identified. 

• At 6:30 p.m. officers received a report that packages were stolen on the 450 block of East Eighth Street.

Sunday, July 25

• At 2 p.m. officers received a report that two tires of a vehicle were cut overnight on the 400 block of Cottonwood Drive. 

• At 3 p.m. officers received a report that a vehicle was damaged in the Walmart parking lot. The incident is under investigation. 

 

Winona County 

Tuesday, July 20

• At 12:17 p.m. deputies arrested Kaleb Michael Komperud, 19, and referred him to the county attorney for a potential charge of making threats. According to the report, two juveniles said Komperud threatened them via social media. 

Saturday, July 24

• At 4:19 p.m. deputies received a report that two people fell from a jet ski at the East End Boat Harbor. According to the report, the driver’s hand slipped, the boat turned quickly, and the individuals fell. One was taken to a local hospital for the treatment of minor hand injuries.

• At 7:12 p.m. deputies received a report of an alleged domestic assault on the 42,000 block of County Road 12. One person involved reportedly left the scene. Deputies are continuing to look for them.

• At 11:45 p.m. officers arrested Hoanj Van Nguyen, 55, of Winona, on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. Deputies initially stopped him for allegedly speeding on Riverway Drive and Prairie Island Road. Potential charges are pending blood-test results. 

Sunday, July 25

• At 8:47 p.m. deputies arrested Justin Lee Hahn, 34, of Utica, and referred him to the county attorney for a potential charge of violating a domestic abuse no contact order. He was allegedly at a property on County Road 23 and Charity Drive that the domestic abuse no contact order prohibited him from visiting.
