Monday, August 2

•    Officers received a report that mail was stolen from a mailbox overnight on the 250 block of Carimona Street. 

•    At 2:34 p.m. officers received a report of an alleged assault involving two adults in a cab the previous Friday. The incident is under investigation. 

Wednesday, August 3

•    Officers received a report that an air conditioning unit was stolen on the 200 block of Olmsted Street. 

•    Officers received a report that about $950 was stolen from a cash box in an unlocked vehicle last Saturday at the Winona Farmers Market. 

•    Officers received a report that the bulkhead next to Cal Fremling Drive was damaged when a cruise ship docked at Levee Park. 

•    At 5:40 p.m. officers received a report that a drive shaft was stolen from a vehicle on the 850 block of East 11th Street. 

•    At 7:46 p.m. officers received a report that an AR-15 was stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight on the 50 block of East Fifth Street. The incident is under investigation. 

Wednesday, August 4 

•    At about 3 a.m. officers cited Randon Lee Rusert, 41, of Winona, with receiving stolen property; Phillip Edward Edmunds, 32, of Minnesota City, with theft; and Paige Kayleen Suchla, 30, of Winona, with theft. According to the report, officers saw Rusert and Suchla riding bikes with a bike trailer on Third and Mechanic streets and recognized them from a surveillance video of a bike theft on July 19. Edmunds was also allegedly present during the theft on July 19. 

•    Officers received a report that a wallet left on a city bus near Walmart then found on another city bus was missing two social security cards. The incident is under investigation. 

•    Officers received a report that a bicycle was stolen on the 100 block of Main Street. 

•    At 4:28 p.m. officers cited Gary Allen Kowalewski, 59, of Winona, with theft after he allegedly stole about $109 of merchandise at Walmart. 

•    At 6:27 p.m. officers arrested Michael Richard Zeller, 39, of Winona, and referred him to the county attorney for a potential charge of violating a harassment restraining order. Zeller allegedly texted someone protected by the harassment restraining order on July 30 and July 31. Officers then located him on 11th Street and Mankato Avenue on August 4. 

Thursday, August 5

•    At 11:54 a.m. officers received a report that a catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle on the 1100 block of Highway 61. Another catalytic converter was cut off a vehicle and left at the scene. The incident is under investigation. 

•    At 9:51 p.m. officers received a report that an employee’s debit card was used after the wallet the card had been in was left near a work station at Walmart.

Saturday, August 7

•    At 12:59 p.m. officers received a report that someone was struck in the face near Target. The person who reported the alleged assault reportedly hung up when speaking with dispatchers, and officers were not able to locate them. 

•    At 4:08 p.m. officers received a report that someone allegedly got a threatening email from a client on the 250 block of Grand Street. The incident is under investigation. 

•    At 4:39 p.m. officers received a report that a handgun and watch were stolen on the 200 block of East Third Street. The incident is under investigation. 

Sunday, August 8

•    At 6:03 p.m. officers received a report that someone allegedly got harassing text messages on the 50 block of Johnson Street. The incident is under investigation. 

•    At 8 p.m. officers received a report that siding of a house was damaged on the 650 block of East Third Street. 

•    At 11:46 p.m. officers assisted the Winona Fire Department after receiving a report that a vehicle was on fire near the Amtrak station. The fire was put out and believed to be caused by a mechanical issue. 

 

Winona County

Sunday, August 1

•    Prosecutors charged Jennie Mae Gallup, 34, of St. Charles, with fourth-degree assault, domestic assault and damage to property. She allegedly hit someone’s mouth with her head, pushed them to the ground and threw their phone on the ground. She also allegedly spit and kicked at officers. 

Monday, August 2

•    At 9:22 p.m. deputies arrested Ally Kay Sheehan, 30, of Caledonia, Minn., and referred her to the county attorney for potential charges of second-degree assault and misdemeanor domestic assault. Sheehan allegedly cut someone with a knife and punched them in Dakota. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries, according to the report. 

Thursday, August 5

•    At 6:28 p.m. deputies arrested Alexander Ansley Wohlers, 32, of Winona, on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. Deputies initially pulled him over for allegedly speeding on White Tail Drive and County Road 23. Potential charges are pending test results. 

Saturday, August 7

•    At 10:15 p.m. deputies received a report that someone was punched in the head at a bar in Utica. The incident is under investigation.
