From: Mark Peterson, mayor of Winona
I would like to thank the voters of Winona for allowing me to serve as their mayor for the past eight years. It has been both a pleasure and an honor.
I believe the City Council and the city staff have accomplished such good work. The council, while not agreeing on all issues, always voted to do what they thought would be best for the citizens of our city. They did so by being respectful and never letting it get personal. I want to thank my fellow council members for their dedicated work, and in particular outgoing members Al Thurley and Paul Schollmeier, for their years of service. I also want to congratulate Scott Sherman as your new mayor and the incoming council members: Steve Young and Aaron Repinski. I also have to thank the city staff for all they do for the city. City manager Steve Sarvi, the department heads, and all the city employees do a great job providing excellent service to Winona. Last, but certainly not least, I want to thank my wife Kathie. Your support meant everything.
Thank you and have a very happy New Year!
