Airborne (retired)

I would like to say to Mr. Holiday thank you for your service and you should stand tall for being assigned to a rapid deployment force such as the 82nd Airborne Division!

The brave men you speak of that fought in World War II were indeed true warriors and brave men, as well as the women that served that you forgot to mention. It’s sad we lost 11 brave troops, a Navy corpsman and Army paratrooper. Let’s not forget the five civilians that lost their lives in the attempted insurrection in our own country because some bozo failed to accept his loss and pushed the big lie.

So, Mr. Holiday, you mentioned the Band of the Bozos! “Bozo - noun, slang - especially a big strong, stupid fellow, a rude, obnoxious, or annoying person.” This had to be done by someone, and this bozo finished what the last bozo initiated. The last bozo dealt with the devil (the Taliban and not the Afghan government).

We as service members have six articles of the code of conduct to follow, and we as soldiers swore to them. I will mention two of the six:

1. I am an American, fighting in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense.

2. If I am captured, I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy.

So when you use the term bozo, you must mean the bozo that didn’t have any respect for the Honorable Mr. John McCain?

As you know Bagram is in Afghanistan, and a full withdrawal is a full withdrawal. Maybe closing Bagram last would have helped save the lives of 13 service members? I’m sure 75 percent of Americans don’t have any clue how many soldiers, airmen, sailors, coastguard, marines, civilian contractors, allied forces, and civilians lost their lives during the post-9/11 wars. Now you have bozos that criticize the bozos that made a decision to execute the withdrawal. I wish the bozos that criticize both parties would put some big boy pants on and put themselves in harm’s way.

During the attack on the front porch to democracy you have a bozo pleading with the bozo to call off the protest so he doesn’t get killed. This is in our own country.

Hopefully our bozos learn from this; they didn’t learn from the past wars.

So Mr. Holiday, we have bozos! Some are rude, obnoxious, stupid, and annoying! Thank you for your service.
